Typical K40 Specification

General description: Polyester painted steel hinge down tiles supported in a concealed clip-in system.

Membrane material: Zintec steel tiles.

Size: Width 300mm, length up to 2400mm.

Thickness: 0.6mm minimum, with electroplated zinc finish to BS EN 10143:1993.

Edge detail: see edge table below.

Tile Face: Plain or Perforated (refer to Perforation Patterns).

Finish: Electrostatically applied polyester paint. High opacity formulation to an optimum thickness of 45 microns.

Colour: Standard white colours either BS 00E55 12% gloss or RAL 9010 20% gloss. Other BS or RAL colours available on request. Specified colour to be controlled to Delta E tolerance of 0.5.

Acoustic insert: see acoustics.

Suspension system: Tiles to be supported by the Burgess Nilgrid suspension system. Each tile shall span the corridor and be secured at the hinged end by NIL3 pivot cleats and NIL4 collars retained by split pins. NIL3 pivots to be located in NIL1 channel section at 300mm centres. The release end of the tiles to be clipped into NIL2 tee section using pip and stop registers on the panel flange. NIL1 and NIL2 profiles to be bolted to NIL5 wall brackets at 1200mm maximum centres. NIL5 brackets to be fixed to wall using 2 no.fixings (subject to wall construction and load safety factors).

Fire Performance: The ceiling system must be fully tested in accordance with BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 and be of such performance as to be designated CLASS 'O' under United Kingdom Building Regulations.

Acoustic Performance: Full consideration must be given to the acoustic contribution of the ceiling. An appropriate acoustic insert is to be provided to achieve (see acoustics):
