Tegular Ceilings

Installation

Using a laser, or equivalent, determine ceiling level and secure perimeter trim (GT119) to the wall at 450mm maximum centres. *(The trim is to be at the same level as the grid when using Flat Lay-In tiles as the standard perimeter detail).

Cut lengths of either suspension angle (GT114) or suspension wire to suit suspension depth, ensuring sufficient length for fixing.

Setting out from the centre of the room, secure hangers at 1200mm maximum centres to the structural soffit using fixings approved by the Architect and determined by load and safety factor considerations.

The first hangers are to be no more than 450mm from the wall.

Where possible, not less than half tiles should be used at perimeters. Install Main Runners at 1200mm centres using M6 or equivalent fixings to angle hangers. Wire hangers to have a minimum of 3 turns to form a tight coil.

To achieve a 600 x 600mm module, interlock 1200mm cross tees between main runners at 600mm centres and 600mm cross tees centrally between them. Tiles can now be offered into place.

(*With Flat Lay-In tiles being used at all perimeters to give flush finish into perimeter trim).

Cut perimeter tiles must be retained using wedges (GT120) spaced at 300mm maximum centres.
